On welcome I received 5-6 gifts, like a box of FTOP black tea, instant noodles, different sweets and snacks. This hotel is not in downtown, nor is it near the airport, so you need a driver or a taxi to get around. |

Location: Newcastle IHG status(s): Spire Paid / award night: Paid - standard room Breakfast in restaurant: (list only if offered) Offered for £9.00 Upgrade to club floor: I've always been upgraded to club floor - I would imagine that it's subject to availability. Club lounge access: Granted - see above Club lounge services / quality: Coffee and soft drinks during the day. Alcohol and canapes available during evening hours. The hours used to be 17:00 to 21:00 (I was surprised) but they've been rationalised to 17:30 to 19:30 ( to bring the lounge in line with others, but maybe because 4 hours of free alcohol is not a good business model on Tyneside ) Other comments: New hotel, convenient for railway station and town centre. |

On checking in at C.P. Changi received usual welcome letter with usual Platinum benefits only this time this was included.
"Receive upgrade to Club room and full Club benefits when you book a premier room." Stayed on points but paid for Club access. Will be back on paid stay in Premier room next week so hopefully will be upgraded as per letter. Had a few early check-in's when room was available so I was able to wash up, grab sit down breakfast before heading to CBD. |

Shanghai, China Spire/RA Lounge access+ UPG to a nice Jr Suite from lowest category Paid stay Breakfast in the lounge-decent enough Evening F&B in the lounge was excellent, enough to eat that if you didn't feel like going out you wouldn't need to. CP Nanjing Suites and Hotel Nanjing Spire/RA No lounge access offered but UPG to a suite. Breakfast was included in my rate. |
CP Bangkok Lumpini
Platinum stayed many times at this property and they change policy frequently last year they promised Lounge Access if I pay for deluxe (significant higher Price than standard): now they rejected, no Lounge Access, nothing. claimed that was never their policy after I complained, I got one drink voucher as only benefit for Platinum the management is on the Level of the thousands of tuk tuk drivers, tour guides and touts in Bangkok ripping off guests by making them pay the higher room rates and then default on their promises |
