how to gift points with ihg?

how to gift points with ihg?
So as many of you know IHG has been sending out emails for a bonus of up to 100% when you buy points but can anyone remind me how to gift them?I am sure you need to gift them at the time and cant buy then and then gift them as you would loose points huh? Can anyone remind me how to do it. ta!

You can transfer points from your account to any other ihg rewards member. Only problem is the transfer fee is us$5/1k, almost the same as 100% Bonus rate or P+C us$7/1k purchase rate so would be rather stupid to buy to then in your words "gift" from own account
There seems to be a link to gift where you enter your details as purchaser, and enter separate deyails for a recipient . Could be worthwhile as
a)Member can only purchase 120K . year
BUT
b)Member can receive further 120K as gift per year
