Connecting At Malaga Question

First time doing this so not sure of the procedure, flying into Malaga on Finnair from Helsinki, have onward booking to Alicante but on a separate ticket with Iberia, can i transfer or do i need to go through passport control then come back through again? Also hand luggage only.

Certainly you don‘t have to go through passport control since both countries are Schengen members. The layout of AGP might not allow for an airside transfer although in 2018 it did. If nothing has changed then there is no security check either so if you are checked in on IB everything is fine and quick.

You should have posted this in the Iberia forum for first hand experience on transfers at AGP.

Which IB --> IB transfers are happening at AGP? Melilla?

It's fair enough to ask MAD questions on the IB board - especially T4 related - but for other Spanish airports the leading carrier is usually Ryanair, Easyjet, Eurowings or Vueling...

P.S. It's VY flying AGP to ALC.

For the OP, some Spanish airports send you straight to arrivals instead of into the departures hall. BIO and VLC come to mind. I don't know about AGP...

I'm confident that the members of the IB forum have (more) first hand experience with AGP than readers here, including you and I; hence my suggestion.

After this thread gets moved to the Iberia forum, it will have double exposure because the original link will remain here.. I'm not suggesting this strategy, but that's the way things work at present.
