Where to ask with routing help
I feel like I should know better both in terms of where is the correct place to ask this on FT, but also at this point I should be proficient enough in my search skills to reach an answer on my own.
I need to be in Ulaanbaatar (UBN) on May 14th.
Leaving from ideally EWR, JFK or PHL. However, happy to reposition to WAS (DCA, IAD, BWI), BOS, or if truly needed YYZ. In that order of preference.
Returning back May 20.
I know there was a place to post this, but I am blanking on the where.
Creative routings with cash fares or miles would be an option for me.
Can someone point me to where I should be posing the question?
Thanks!

I think that this is a fine place to post your inquiry.
Search engines like this one are great for an initial airfare search:
https://oldmatrix.itasoftware.com/
Looking at the UBN Wikipedia entry, it appears that there are no oneworld carriers that serve the airport, so if you want to redeem miles, you'd be looking at SkyTeam or Star Alliance.
Be sure to carefully check entry requirements in the age of COVID-19.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines serves NRT, HKG, and PUS, (they also serve ICN but a notice on their website popped up that ICN flights are diplomatic only currently??) so you could try to find an award to one of the usual locations and pay cash onwards. In J, the 5 hr flight from NRT looks like it should be around $800 rt.
