How to search

I need a ticket from Oklahoma City, OK to Providence, Rhode Island in the next few days. Where do I search for a ticket? I tried a couple search engines and got a variety of airlines and prices. I just want to be comfortable and not in a packed plane, but not sure if that's possible?

If you're looking for flight load info you'd need a paid service such as Expert Flyer. But flight loads change so one day you could see a half full plane and then go to board to a full one.

The only way to make sure would be to go private.

I have no idea how to search for something last minute and cheap. I was hoping not to fly Allegiant or similar, but looking like my best bet is to bus from okc to DFW and to fly to Boston and catch a train to Providence.

SkyScanner is good at reviewing for low fares on the route and date you want. It's not capable of magic though. The prices are what they are...

Welcome to FT!.

If you do fly to Boston and take a train to Providence, it may be helpful for you to be aware that there is free public transportation (Silver Line bus) from all the terminals at Logan to the South Station (where trains to Providence originate). Amtrak trains to New York/Washington depart frequently and stop in Providence, but there are also inexpensive, though slower, commuter trains serving that route.
