Connecting flight at JFK

Connecting flight at JFK
I observed that Flt DL 1320 departed RDU late at 1900 hrs on Mar 13 and arrived at JFK at around 2100 hrs in Terminal 2.
Flt DL 24 departed from Terminal 4 from JFK to BOM at 2100 hrs.
Was there any passenger with above connecting flt? How did they manage? What alternative flight was offered ?
In case there are passengers with above connecting tickets, will Delta delay their onward flight and assist the passenger to board the JFK-BOM flight? Also, will Delta take the passenger from Terminal 2 Terminal 4 on its bus service?
