Unhappy App/website to show which card to use (walla.by/tpg app replacement)

Hi everyone, I used to use Walla.by which showed exactly what type of card to use (including freedom/discover categories), then it shut down and TPG app used their "backend" to do almost the same, now TPG emailed saying we are shutting down and will rebuild the app (not sure if cards feature will be there as well).

Is there any other way to see what card to use if you have like 20 cards? For example, if you are at Target or Gas station it will say what's best based on rotating categories etc.

How can it know what's best for you? The value of Chase UR points depends on how you use them. If you use them as cashback, then perhaps a quarter where Discover and Freedom has the same 5x category is equal, but if you get higher value out of Chase UR then 5x at Chase UR would beat 5% at Discover, and more importantly, 1x at Chase UR might beat 1.5% or 2% cashback.

So I don't see how any app can really tell you what's best unless it lets you specify how much you value what kind of points. But that makes the app all the more complicated.

And more and more banks are letting you choose your own categories (BofA is just adding that this week to its Cash Rewards card, and US Bank has had it for a while on its Cash+ card). That also makes the app all the more complicated because you have to input half of the data yourself!

So why don't you make your own list, once a quarter (ie, only 4 times a year), if the most that ever changes for you is quarterly rotating bonuses?

Doctor Of Credit rounds up the rotating bonus stuff quarterly, but of course leave it up to you rank them (depending on what you have and how you value different types of points):

That's fine but if you tried one of those apps you would understand, they show a list of cards that you have and what you will earn if you use them at a specific place/category, you can also set your own values. Another lifesaving thing was the ability to add bonus and track how much you already spent to hit it, it showed a nice timeline. TPG just killed them and looks like no one knows an alternative.

you can see 4 years video about it here but they added much more in the recent years youtube com/watch?v=mIv3FNp4bRE
