Last minute getaway

There have been times when I have had an unexpected long weekend free to do something. This is often booking a day or two before the trip.

I used to use the Southwest fare map to find a destination but that is gone now. Is there any good resource to find great deals on last-minute getaways? I want to see where I can go cheaply for my date range. Most sites require me to pick a destination first.

I have quite a few Southwest points, Southwest companion pass, Delta miles, United miles, IHG points, and Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Although I would rather pay cash if there are great prices and save my miles/points for a more expensive redemption.

Does the google flights map show what you are looking for? Fill in origin and dates but leave the destination blank. Click on the map to see destinations and price.

https://www.google.com/flights

Not always easy to find airfare deals on short notice, but sometimes you get lucky.

I have tried Google flights but typically they aren't particularly cheap on short notice. I had a lot better luck with Southwest but without the map search, I am lost.

Southwest is a bit of an outlier here, in that they do not publish their airfares to 3rd party sources. So it's not possible to look up their fares on 3rd-party sites. But virtually every other airline does, so you can find last-minute fares with Google Flights or most other OTAs. There's no way to view Southwest fares in comparison to other airlines, easily.
