Inconsistent award availability

Hi all,

I'm extremely ill-informed on all things award redemption, but could use some insight.

I intend to fly one way with a partner from London to JFK on 10/24, and ideally would like to fly first while burning amex points (as efficiently as possible). Award Nexus showed me a single ticket through AC on LH metal LHR-FRA-JFK in biz and first, respectively, but not two. However, when I run the same search originating from CDG, suddenly there's availability in F on the FRA-JFK leg for two people!

Additionally, requesting just a search FRA-JFK in F for two people shows nothing! What gives? I realize this is a super novice question, and I'd appreciate any color you can provide.

Thanks!

What ffp? Or just using Amex MR points?
Questions like this are better asked in the relevant ffp forum.
First class awards are hard get on popular routes. Many airlines do not have first class.

It's AC aeroplan miles on LH metal. There is a first class...I can find one seat available on a LHR-FRA-JFK routing, and two seats available on a CDG-FRA-JFK routing. My question is, since it's clear the FRA-JFK leg has two F seats available for redemption, why can't I at least find them while searching just for that leg on its own?

Probably a married segment issue, had the same HAM-FRA-JFK

Looking up only the FRA-JFK leg only had one F seat, Looking up HAM-JFK came up with 2.

No chance to get the segments booked individual.

Book the CDG and then call within 24 hours to see if they can swap the first segment since you'll have the F one confirmed. If not your savings in APD can probably cover the cheap LHR - CDG

They won't see necessarily LHR-(FRA)-JFK availability if CDG-(FRA)-JFK is available. For Lufthansa it is two different fights. LHR-JFK and CDG-JFK, exactly the problem with married segments.

The Op could try to see if LHR-EWR is available through FRA, DUS or MUC. LH First on a 340 is actually as nice as on the 380 or 748. In fact I like it more.
