As you probably know, FT is not a travel agency nor a place to outsource your travel research. If you can share with us what options you've found, I'm sure some could offer suggestions and feedback.

Easiest/fastest will be train to MUC (about an hour) and then take a flight to FLR (about 1 hour 15).
You can also go by train all the way from Regensburg over Munich and Verona to Florence, but it'll take about 10 hours with risks of missed connection ins Munich and Verona.
Last option: Rent a car and have scenic drive through the alps!
