BA Website Error on upgrading

Hi,

New to the forum and sorry if this is the wrong place to post but wondered if anyone had noticed this before/had any advice.

I recently had to book some flights that I had a 50% chance of needing to move so I chose BA with their economy plus fares. As I was going through the booking process I was offered an upgrade for a small fee to club Europe for the outbound flight. I clicked this and then was taken to a new page with my upgrade. Scrolling down on this page to the about your flight section it still reported a Time/date change was permitted at any time before each flight for a difference in fare. So I thought great Ill do it.

I unfortunately had to change my flight and when I did, I was told I now had to pay a change fee of 100 per person plus the difference in fare.

So I have done some reading and it appears that I was put into an I selling class on the upgrade which is why they charged me 100 per person.

I have now gone back and tried the same process again and it appears that if I select the flights initially with a club europe leg then the selling class is I and I am told I need to pay a fee for changing the flights but if I choose economy plus and then upgrade I am still sold a class I but the website now tells me that only a difference in fare is required. (At least for upgrading one way as haven't tried upgrading both ways).

Has anyone noticed this before/had this issue? If so and needed to change could you get the 100 back? I am currently in contact with customer service but they have so far not been helpful.

I've alerted a MOD to move this thread to the BA forum. Here on FT the major airlines each have their own forum to get specific answers.
