Anyway I would like to ask questions about routes/airports and general flight info. Where should I post my questions?

The place hasn't changed substantially in years, let alone the last six months...

General questions about flying go in Travel&Dining / TravelBuzz. Questions or comments about specific airports go in the appropriate (geography-specific) subforum under Destinations. Queries about specific airlines or alliances go in the appropriate forum under Miles & Points / Airlines & Mileage Programs or Global Airline Alliances.

Right at the bottom of this page is "Forum Jump", which lets you scroll through the various forums and click on the one that seems closest to your issues.

At the top is "Search" which can help you find specific topics wherever they may be.

But I'd seriously suggest searching the web first for info. For routes and general flight info, a simple "flight cityA cityB". Or ITA Matrix (http://matrix.itasoftware.com). Or any of the specific airline web sites. Or the more general ones like www.kayak.com and www.expedia.com. Or ...

For airports search "airport cityname".

People are really willing to help here if it is clear the requestor has already put some effort into the issue.

And when you've done a bit of outside research and then found what you think is the appropriate forum, take a couple minutes and read through any "stickies" at the beginning of the forum. A surprising amount of general information in those.

The main changes are in appearance (ie, there's new icons to show which forum has new posts since you last visited and which doesn't, but obviously if it's been 6 months since you logged ever single forum is likely to have new posts).

There are always a few forums that get reorganized due to mergers or due to someone coming up with a better idea. For example, the LAN forum has been renamed LATAM because the airline renamed itself (after it merged with TAM). Depending on when exactly you last visited, if US Airways was still an active brand then, the American Airlines forum may have looked a bit different since US Airway was still semi-separated but is now completely merged in. The Rental Car forums got "simplified" with only a few rental companies having their own separate forums and then a main "rental car" forum was created both for catch-all rental car questions and for the remaining rental companies. Etc.

If your questions are about specific airports or routes involving specific airports, the destination forum for that airport's geographic region is a good place to go. Search the forum before posting, though: you'd be surprised how often you're not the first person to have had a question. Someone may have already answered it.

However, often airports that are hubs are discussed in the corresponding airline forum, of course focusing on the experience of flying that carrier to/from/through the hub.

I'm having a bit of trouble navigating and could use some help, please. I am looking for restaurant recommendations near the Hyatt on Capitol Hill under $25. Could be store, deli, or whatever. I have searched and the DC forum has nothing. Please just head me in the right direction.

Have you tried Tripadvisor or Around Me or Four Square or Yelp or any of the millions of apps that filter for this sort of thing?

Enter the address of your hotel, a small radius, and dates. Then when the hotel list and map comes up, click on your specific hotel on the left side. Then click on "SEE NEARBY Restaurants, Coffee, Bars, etc." in the box that appears right middle.

Also, whatever mapping application you are using probably has a "Find nearby" or similar. Use "grocery stores", "supermarkets", "fast food", deli" or anything similar.

Or for that matter, just walk around outside. Maybe not after dark until you know just how safe the particular area is. My working assumption is that if I have very ordinary needs (food) in an area where there are lots of other people with the same needs, there are always other people working to make money off those needs - i.e. restaurants, cafes, food trucks, etc..
