NYC to Athens?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip from NYC to Athens in September. I'd love to be able to fly on business class there (I'm okay with coach home) and my goal is to get some miles to do it as cheaply as possible. Can someone help me understand my best options of achieving this goal in terms of credit card to sign up for and any other advice? Thanks!

You've got a lot of reading to do. The wikis under the information threads, the airlines you'd prefer to redeem and fly on & the credit card forum are all good places to start. Each frequent flyer program is different and has different partners. BA typically has high fees for crossing the Atlantic but has some partners that don't. Same for each individual airline's program.
There are services you can pay that will help guide you through redemptions as it can be full of loopholes and tricks.
September being about 6 months from now, achieving the minimum spending & getting those points/miles to post and being able to find J availability may be very difficult.
Once you come up with a plan to achieve your goal of getting the points to get you there I suggest continuing in this thread to have us evaluate your plan to make sure you're not missing something or getting a low value redemption.
