Points in CI s-class?
Dear Forum,
This may be considered a beginner's mistake, but here it goes:
I fell for an offer from China Airlines (Taiwan), a SkyTeam member, on a ticket from Europe to New Zealand. Having bought the ticket, I discovered that the fare basis code was SL1YDK. Usually this indicates that the fare class is s.
I trawled through the fare accumulation tables of all the SkyTeam members, I could find, and it appears that s class accumulates 0 points everywhere.
There is a connecting flight within Europe operated by KLM and with a KL number on the ticket.
My 2 questions are:
Does anyone know of a frequent flyer program that would let me earn miles on CI fare class s?
Would I still earn miles on the short KL flight?
Thanks for your reply/ies,

Dear London Elite,
Thank you for your answer. Probably I am the one asking the dumb questions.
China Airlines doesn't let one earn miles in s class on their own programme. ..ok, which should give me an idea as to the answer.. :-/
But if someone had information about some more generous flyer programme out there, however unlikely that is, I would want to know.
That a Cathay Pacific ticket may earn one miles on BA's programme, but not on AA's, is a different matter, since it DOES earn you miles on CX itself.
