Help! Around the World Using Points / Miles
Hi all!
I am trying to piece together an around the world itinerary. This will all take place in the span of about 35 days in August 2016. I was hoping I could get some advice ideas from the forum. Here is the general plan-
JFK-TIA via ROM, SKG-IST, IST-DXB, DXB-BKK, BKK to NRT via HKG (hopefully), and finally NRT-LGA via DFW.
Currently, I have already booked JFK-TIA through Delta points, and NRT-LGA business/first through Aadvantage.
My current balances standing are apprx:
110k Aadvantage
51k avios (BA)
50k Alaskan
148k (Amex MR)
30k delta
Could anyone recommend how to best complete IST-DXB, DXB-BKK, and BKK-NRT through these? I think I may pay for IST-DXB outright as it is about $130 non stop in August of 2016....
Also, any general advice about visiting these cities? Thank you ALL in advance!

Well, if you wanted to use AA miles for the DXB - BKK flight, there is currently VERY good availability in coach (which I assume is what you're looking for) on Etihad AUH - BKK on the direct (it is very easy to get from DXB to AUH for the flight). 22.5k AA miles. Could also spend Amex points for that, but would be almost 40k Amex.
Again, picking random dates, there seems to be very good availability on Cathay in coach BKK - HKG - NRT. That would set you back 20k AA miles.

As this is about a variety of miles and points, not specific to one particular airline, we will move it to the Information Desk forum.
