Booking *Alliance without AC?
Hello everyone and I apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong area.
I'm trying to book an award flight from YYZ to EZE returning from SCL (Santiago) but seems all the flights on the aeroplan site have a AC portion which causes the taxes to skyrocket.
I know it is possible to book without AC and in turn avoid the taxes as I've seen the topic come up here but I'm not sure how.
If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Yes, it's possible, but only if you can find low-tier award space on other Star Alliance carriers. Suggest you do an award search at united.com, to see if any award itineraries not utilizing AC are available on your desired dates of travel.
And you might alert a Moderator to request that this thread be moved to the FT Aeroplan forum, which is probably where it belongs.

And not to try to bump this (not my intent) but it's a bit hard to ask mods when using a mobile phone.
