Guest in BA lounge on silver

This is a while away yet (April) but basically, myself and a colleague will be travelling from TXL together. Him in Business class BA to LHR and me in flybe (there is no business class) to DSA.

He is silver tier, so can I accompany him into the BA lounge at TXL as his guest?

Thanks

Welcome to FT, hungry.

The answer to your question is no, as you are not on a OneWorld marketed flight. The specific rule is:

Emerald and Sapphire members may invite one guest to join them in the lounge. The guest must also be travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld carrier.

Hi Hungry,

Welcome to flyertalk!^

If you were flying to LHR in BA then he could gust you in but as you are not flying BA then he will not be able to guest you in .

Regards

Hi all thanks for the replies

That's a shame. When I fly out to Berlin we are flying together in Business from LHR so I can get myself into the lounge there.

Is there any discretion that lounge staff can use to allow me in? Are they sometimes accommodating ?

There is no way to predict this, but I would expect the answer to be 'no'. You're really not missing that much, mind you.

Ok thanks. We will probably just find a bar have a few beers, then his flight leaves an hour and half after mine so he can go in the lounge alone when I board.

On another note, flying LGW to FCO return in Feb with BA business both ways. I understand the lounge at FCO was fire damaged. Has it reopened ? and if not is it likely to before Feb?

Have a beer at Leysieffer, just below the lounge area, or have a meal at the Red Baron on the other side of the upper level. Sorry, can't help you with the FCO lounge.

It has not yet reopened, this thread has more information: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...-rome-fco.html

There is a dedicated BA section on FT so in future for any questions related to BA/BAEC please post here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...tive-club-446/
