Advice needed for BMI Regional
Hello everyone. I am probably in the wrong place but a little confused.
I booked a trip with expedia going Bristol to Frankfurt and return - thought I was booking a Lufthansa flight but it turns out its BMI regional.
I cannot find this airline in the list of "airlines and mileage programmes" so am posting here.
I am fairly new to flying but have flown with BA before. With BA it's easy to manage your booking, choose seats etc. I can find no way to do this on BMI. There is a "bookings" tab on the website but it doesn't seem to do anything in any of the browsers I have tried.
Is it actually possible to pre-select seats or is this all done at check in ?
If at check in can I do it online? According to Bristol Airport website it is only possible on the Aberdeen route. But I can go through the motions on the BMI page, just get a message that check-in can only be done 48 hours before. I don't want to get to the airport and find most of the seats gone, and get split up from my companion.
Any advice greatfully received

Hello RailFan, welcome to FT!
You may be correct in thinking that you purchased a flight on Lufthansa. I believe that while you purchased your flight through Lufthansa, the flight is actually operated through a codeshare agreement with BMI Regional (which is a British regional airline).
I would try and look up your reservation using the My Bookings section of the Lufthansa website. If you are having problems getting flight information online, I would advise calling Lufthansa or BMI Regional.
You can also try and look at your flight info on the Expedia website.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Lufthansa website didn't like my reference number but www.bmiregional.com did take it and said I could check in online 48hrs before. I phoned bmi to check whether seats could be pre-booked but they can't, it's done at checkin. Likewise supplying passport data. The agent also clarified that online check in was ok for bristol to frankfurt, but can't be done the other way.
Thanks again for your pointers.
