Best chance for upgrade SFO<->JFK?
I used to fly this route a lot...and am currently Platinum on Delta, and the equivalent (Premier Platinum) on United, and had US Airways Platinum (ending but not yet!...so perhaps I get some benefit on American?).
Trying to figure out who gives the best chance for an upgrade.
Delta: Seems no more complimentary upgrades
United: SFO is a hub, so probably low probability...
American: no idea if US Airways merger gives me status...
I'm sure some people are far more knowledgeable on this topic than I am...!
Thanks,
Alex

Depends on the day of the week and the specific flight loads. AA Plat will likely have a hard time upgrading with stickers on the A321T. Could always try to find a flight with miles upgrade available to get it confirmed in advance/time of booking.

UA does not offer complimentary upgrades to Business First on the SFO/JFK as well as LAX/JFK routes.
The only ways to be upgraded are using Regional Premier Upgrade (RPU) instruments or Global Premier Upgrade (GPU) instruments. You can also upgrade by buying up to first with cash or miles. After February 1st, upgrades with miles also require a co-pay.
Lastly, you could receive an op-up if economy is oversold and there are seats open in Business First. However, there is almost no chance of that occurring.

As a DL PM, it is possible to get an UG SFO-JFK.

Best chance for upgrade SFO<->JFK?
the short answer is no airline has a good chance of a free upgrade on this route, particularly not with your current statuses.
it will depend on the flight day of week and time though.
