Lightbulb Decisions decisions?!

Hi (:

I was wondering if I could get some advice. I know it's mostly personal preference but I am looking at flying business class from Perth to Amsterdam and can't decide between KLM (via KUL) and Garuda (via Jakarta).

Both have short layovers so was just wondering if one "trumps" the other or if they offer a similar product. Garuda is about $400 cheaper so not much in it really.

Thanks!! (:

Is this one-way or roundtrip? What are the fare quotes?

Are frequent flyer miles/points a factor? (This site is Flyertalk )
Does the departure / arrival times make a difference?
What are the carriers? PER-KUL will not be KLM, but a MH codeshare http://www.perthairport.com.au/Fligh...rnational.aspx
Others to consider are the middle east airlines

Thanks. Sorry! I'm a newbie. $4300 for GA and KLM is $4600. Price is return. The arrival times don't really make a difference. Would rather be comfortable. And yes, correct. The PER-KUL leg on KLM is with Mayasian

Decisions decisions?!

for future reference, posting some more specifics in your subject line will likely lead to more responsive answers

You may also want to search the KLM and other asian airlines forums to read about people's experiences on these airlines and flights.

There might be a cheaper option:

http://www.ausbt.com.au/buying-us-ai...eworld-flights

US Airways' partners include CX, MH, and QR. Of course, whether you can find Business Class award seats for your desired dates of travel is another matter. And you'd have to check the Dividend Miles award chart to see how many miles are needed for Australia-Europe return in Business.

Depending on how soon you will be traveling, you might also be able to wait for periodic mileage sales with AA and AS, each of which partners with CX and permits one-way awards.

Good luck!

I 2nd that, Garuda has been on a huge upswing lately (surprised they're pricing lower than their competitors considering all the new investments they've made)... but if you get one of their newer planes or newer biz class on these routes (you'll have to check at airliners.net to see what matches up with your flight numbers) it will be miles ahead of even KLMs new J class and MHs J class.
