Baggage allowance question, relocating US>UK
My wife and i are getting ready to fly to the United Kingdom, to live.
Could someone please inform us as to the amount of luggage we could take with us? We are planning to take two large suitcases, and a medium size one. Are we allowed to take that amount, or more or less? We will also be taking a computer bag with us each, to serve as a carry-on bag. Will that be okay? I myself am a type 1 diabetic, whose blood sugar has to be monitored a lot throughout the day, as it can drop drastically without too much warning. Would i be able to take a high sugar energy drink on board with me? Would i have to get a certified signed medical letter from my doctor explaining this to allow me to take the drink on board with me?
Thank you.

Baggage rules depend on the airline operating your flight, the route, your cabin class (first/business/coach) and sometimes your fare class (Y B M etc.), your elite status with the carrier and alliance, etc.

The exact answer to your question will depend entirely on the airline you choose, and the type of ticket you buy.
If you have lots of luggage/items to transport, you may be better off having your luggage transported by a specialist freight/moving/luggage forwarding/courier company rather than carrying it all yourself.

Well firstly, many thanks to everyone who has responded to my thread.
We plan to travel via Washington Dulles to Manchester UK. I want to travel non-stop.
Concerning my sugared drink, it would be imperative to have one with me. My sugar levels can drop so low, that candy may not work in time. I have been diabetic for over 40 years, and those sensations of knowing a seizure is happening, has dissipated. Any further thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated.
Regarding the luggage, i will ask the travel agency about that, when we book.
Thanks.
