In order to receive helpful comments, you will need to post more information about your plans. Are you hoping to obtain an award ticket? If so, what airline or airlines will issue the ticket? Will you have a roundtrip award ticket or two one-ways? Policies regarding stopovers on award travel vary from one airline to another.

AA does not offer any free stopovers on its awards. But since BA charges for each flight flown, stopping over en route costs the same number of miles as merely connecting. (Chase Sapphire Preferred points can be converted to BA Avios.) If you can find "SAAver" award space on AA flights at aa.com, you can redeem 12,000 BA Avios for OMA-DFW-CUN one way in Coach, with or without a stopover at DFW.
Google "CUN airport wiki" to find the Wikipedia article which will show all cities with nonstop service to CUN.

You should be able to to do OMA-SAT (Layover-as many days as you want), SAT-CUN, CUN-OMA with United for 35K miles and about $80 in taxes. It is important that you search for availabiltiy segment by segment, meaning look specific dates for OMA-SAT first, then SAT-CUN, and last CUN-OMA. In other words, consider your trip as three one-ways. If you find availability for all three segments, you will need to book the three segments together through either United award engine or by calling United CS. If you have a United CC, you should see slightly better availability if you are logged in to your account.
