green alert button
I know about the function of the green alert button and see it on a few posts.
But why is the botton green on all my posts?
I am not very new.
Does ones own posts always show a green button?
I have been curious for a long time and am beginning to feel that I am on probation.
Assuming that this forum is the best choice for this quite non- travel related question.

BTW, when the "green light" is on, it says you've logged in and are on FT for the time being. When one logs out, the light turns red. Nothing punitive is attached to the "green/red status light."

You can set whether you want to remain visible or invisible in the Edit Options menu.
If you hover your mouse cursor over the icons, they'll tell you what they mean.

Thank you to both of you.
Having now searched the link provided and read your answers, I now understand that I have mistakenly linked the two icons ( circle and alert sign). Thought that the alert triangel triggered the green light. All is clear now,

I didn't want to bring up the "invisible" part to confuse OP even further, but my deliberate omission had made things less clear. Thanks to jackal, now we have all the colors nicely matched and set things straight. ^

I can see that you have been having fun while I have been sleeping.....
I have been sleeping well knowing that I am not especially targeted for monitoring. And I don't have a red light to give me nightmares....
