American Miles

I have about 50K miles on American and would like to get between Austin and SFO - what would be the best way to transfer miles to either United or JetBlue?

Welcome to the forum

Effectivley AA miles cannot be transferred to United, Jetblue or any other airline.
You need to use then on an AA flight

Why can't you go AUS-SFO on AA?

Just use the website www.americanmilestounitedmiles.com and you can transfer them and you even get a 5k miles bonus. Just Kidding- i wish it was that easy.

As mentioned you can use AA miles to get to SFO. No way that i know of to use AA miles to fly united or Jetblue. You can often book on Partners/Alliances of if you had MR or UR points, but that can be tricky.

If you have the Citi AA Platinum card, you should look at the "AA reduced mileage award" chart, you might find a RT ticket for only 17,500 miles (GRK->SFO in February)
