Looking to buy miles for AA
I want to fly with wife lax to hkg in July. I want to upgrade my seat from coach to business class with the help of some miles. I'd need ideally four upgrades. Can anyone help?

You can purchase AA miles at aa.com.
What airline do you plan to fly to and from HKG? Can flights on that carrier be upgraded with AA miles?

AA starts DFW-HKG on June 11. You'd need to backtrack to DFW to upgrade on AA metal as they do not offer service from LAX. You can't use AA miles to upgrade the nonstop LAX-HKG on Cathay.
Two issues:
1. AA caps the amount of miles you can buy in a year at 60,000 per member. This should only impact you if you've already bought miles.
2. AA controls the inventory and the chances of finding 2 seats on the same aircraft, particularly on a new route that might be in demand, may be slim. You could end up buying all these miles and not have any seats to use them on. I'd check out availability before making major purchases of miles that you might be stuck with.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, beachwater1974! I'm going to go ahead and close this thread here since it seems to be spiraling off into the topic of buying miles from illicit mileage brokers. If you're looking to buy miles from legitimate sources--which pretty much means "directly from AA.com"--and you have further questions on that, I might suggest posting in the AA forum--they have a nice newbie thread here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...lame-free.html. If you're looking to buy miles from other FlyerTalk members or mileage brokers, unfortunately, such activity is not permitted.
