flight time change
We are on an American Airline flight out of San Juan and the flight time was changed by 3 hours. (earlier) We are getting off of a cruise so there is no way we can make this flight. The only flight they can offer us will make us miss a connection that we booked separately. Looks like we will now have to spend the night in Seattle. One seat was booked with miles, the other paid cash. They are really giving us the run around. There are better flights on other airlines but it is too close to flight time to change since prices have gone up. Does the airline have any responsibility to help us in any way?

AA has a responsibility to give you a refund or put you on an acceptable flight to your final destination on this ticket. What you are calling a connection is actually a separate flight. Without knowing the details it's impossible to be sure, but you may find it less expensive to obtain a refund and buy a new ticket at a higher price than to pay to spend a night in Seattle. In any case, if you don't make your second flight on time your ticket on that flight will be cancelled and you'll need a new ticket.
