Advice: SFO to Cancun

A friend just informed me that he's going to get married in cancun in Nov. What airline miles is the best redemption to cancun in terms of the least amount of miles and availability? I've got miles all across various programs and CC. Thx

All. It looks like only United flies direct. This is based on Expedia. Might have to search the other airlines individually to see if they fly direct also.

Anyone who flies there often have any advice?

It looks like all saver flights are gone. Tix are 600 vs 60k miles on non-saver.
I'll have to look into Delta and see if they fly there. I've got 50ks which i probably won't use otherwise.

I'll check the prices on virgin. Don't have any miles with them though. I'd hope to be able to get there fro 25k miles but it doesn't look like there's any other options.

SFO to Cancun

Look for Avios to use on AA. I went from DFW to CUN for 15000 miles round trip but you need Saver availability. It will probably cost you 25000 from SFO but still not bad.

Delta will probably work with AM, but it's going to require a couple of connections

Probably 35k actually. 15k for DFW-CUN and 20k for SFO-DFW. BA unfortunately prices awards by segment, not by origin to destination distance.

Not a very good redemption if the paid ticket is $600. Even the saver award is borderline, at less than 2 cpm.

SFO to Cancun

Virgin Atlantic charges just 25k miles round trip to fly SFO-CUN on Virgin America; I think you have to call for availability.
