They now have the following on their website:

South Mumbai and our hotels are under the control of the Police and Security forces. We are monitoring the situation closely. As of now we do not have more information.

As per NDTV:

Good decision: Media has been requested not to show live video of events outside.

Trident (corrected from Taj) Hotel guest (foreigner) has reportedly stated that 2 explosions (said to be grenade blasts) were heard 25 minutes ago. (posting @1116 hours, 27 Nov 2008 IST)

As per NDTV:

1135 hours: "Encounter on" at Nariman House in Colaba (adjacent to the Taj Hotel) with terrorists where Israeli nationals/Jewish families are reportedly held hostage.

Video shown does not appear to confirm this, as things appear quiet.

Eyewitness account from a friend's relative:

He was inside the restaurant at the Taj Hotel (last night) when terrorists entered, pulled out 6 foreign-looking people by the neck, and shot them right there.

As per NDTV - 1148 hours:

Large number of bodies in Taj.

Ambulances readying stretchers. (video shows very calmly - not a good sign)

As per NDTV @1200 hours:

SQ reports all flights operating normally.

Other very disturbing information being heard from friends - consider it prudent not to post here.

First, and most importantly, please stay safe SuperFlyBoy.

Thanks for the link to the NDTV live feed. Watching it here in Israel.

This is obviously getting a lot of attention here in Israel due to the Israeli hostages and the situation at the Chabad House (Nariman House).

NDTV just showed an explosion in the Taj.

Just read that a number of bodies of Westerners was found around the swimming pool at Taj.

Stayed at this hotel in June, and was surprised the security was so relaxed, especially when India have experienced several serious attacks in the past. There were multiple entrances to the hotel, one in the front, one in the back, and one through the hotel shopping mall, but none of them were secured. I wasn't screened at all. I remember thinking about this every time I entered the hotel. You can never be 100% secure from an attack, but precautions are necessary!

It's a beautiful hotel, and I respect Taj for promising to build it back. But first and foremost my thoughts goes to the victims and their families.

I hope the terrorists will face their punishment, this is disgusting and totally unacceptable!
