Intercontinental Delhi

Any opinions on this one? Rates look far preferable to that of the Taj and the Oberoi and the location in CP looks to be favorable. Will be going for a business trip.

Haven't been to Delhi in far too long despite being of Indian origin (10 years)...

Stay in the new wing - that's very nice, very zen looking with light wood decor, transparent shower etc. The old wing has black granite paneling around the doors etc etc - overall like any other horrible old 1980s era Delhi hotel.

Oh, watch for nearly 25% in tax for whatever downtown delhi hotel you stay in

thanks for the reply.

Was wondering if there were any alternatives one could think of besides the Taj and Oberoi?

Hserus, I will be in MAA on the 19th and 20th and busy with family matters, but we should definitely meet up the next time I am in town.

There are detailed reviews of both InterContinentals in Delhi in the Intercontinental/Priority Club forum, if you do a search.

alternatives - what price range? in the 275..300+ (before taxes) there's the interconti / taj / oberoi, and the le meridien quite near those. There are a few others but not in the CP, barakhamba road etc area.

And by IC, I meant Shangri-La... any opinions? The Imperial? Both look cheaper than the Oberoi and the Taj on first glance. It also looks like the Shangri-La is throwing in airport transfers, late checkout, laundry etc...
