Q re transit visa
Hi everyone,
since I couldn't find the answer on my local Indian consulate and they didn't answer the phone - maybe someone here could answer my question.
I am aware that for India there are transit visas available - which are valid for 72h. How does that effectively work ?
I am in a situation where I would land in India on tuesday at 8am and leave India at noon on friday. That is still 3 days, but obviously 76hours. Honestly I can't imagine that they actually put down the time, but I've never been to India before and I simply don't know. But in the described situation would a transit visa be still acceptable for the authorities ?
Cheers

It is indeed 72 hours. I presume that proff of onward ticket might be necessary. Otherwise a more expensive tourist visa may be needed.
