Handcraft in Mumbai

Hi, I m in Mumbai for a couple of days. Looking to buy handcraft like statuette of shiva in brons 20 cm without be ripped! the shops I ve been visited so far offer me 4 to 5 times the price I would pay in europe for a famous 200 year old statue (forged for 2 weeks ago... of course ). Honestly they most be ones place somewhere wher can can do business

I agree you have been asked for an exorbitant amount of money.

Here's the problem ... you are there for only 2 days and are staying in the most expensive and touristy place. Bombay is big and commute can be a problem. I am sure if you head north to say Mumbai Central or Dadar, you will find better prices. But you will need some local help.

You have been quoated a price way above what I paid in 2001. One of my statues was about 18 inches tall and weighed about 28 pounds and cost far less than that.
