Leaving airport on a connecting flight
Hi, I am looking to book a flight from AUH TO JGA with a connection in BOM .
Would I be able to leave the airport for few hours?
I presume that I would already have boarding cards from AUH .
I would be flying AIR INDIA

Technically yes, but you would have to carry your bags with you into the city too.. After you collect bags in BOM, to re-deposit for check-in, you would have to go to departures and you cant leave terminal after that..

You can leave. You would either have to carry your bags out with you or leave them in the cloak room at the entrance to the Aviserve Lounge for a fee. You will be allowed to enter departures at T-4 hours.

When arriving in India you have to collect your bags and clear customs in BOM. You can recheck your bags after clearing customs, but after that you have to go to the departures hall. Leaving the terminal is then no longer possible. If you want to leave the building you should not checkin your bags for the next flight.

View of the Intl-Domestic Transfer/Checkin desks after customs. Once you are done you have continue down this corridor which leads you to the domestic departure/checkin area.

One option is to rent a pre-paid taxi for a few hours. This way the car & driver will be with you as long as you want & you can leave the luggage in the car.
