Thanks for your response, I understand the new visas are no longer issued
If I have an existing tourist visa which has 10 year validity, is that still not valid?

Yes, all tourist visas issued before March 18, 2020 are cancelled (and no tourist visas have been issued after that date)
Basically all visas are possible except tourist visas right now.
But good news, I read an article yesterday from India that they are working on reinstating the tourist visa very shortly.

You need to contact your local Indian mission and ask for your visa to be either validated or a new one issued for essential travel.

unfortunately the visas are no longer valid....

are you traveling for tourism or is there any other purpose????

if its only tourism then i don't think that will be validated....if its for business or any other purpose then they may issue you a new visa....

I understand the annoyance: I too have long-term multi-entry tourism visa revoked under current policy.

Although the introduction of legislation to resurrect or re-install visas which might otherwise be valid would carry the level of complexity beloved by Indian civil servants, i can't see it happening. ditto compensation payments or the gratis issue of new visas.

I'd like to be surprised by the goodwill of the MHA: but i reckon this is something we are going to have to suck up.
