I had initiated GEP at PSK at Mumbai in December 2017 (15 months back) and the status on TTP Global Entry site is still "Pending Review".
The responses I have ever received from PSK is either 1) they cannot share any information related to GEP or 2) they are awaiting response from Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Home Affairs. Any one in the same boat? Any suggestions? |

That's around the same timeline as mine. Make sure your Police Clearance was sent in OK status(i've mentioned my saga few posts above).
They should at least let the applicant know if they need anything or if something was not right. :/ |

Global entry card mailed??

My wife (F1) and I (H1B) both got out global entry! We applied for this as soon as it was announced in July 2017. Here is our timeline and experience.
Timeline for My wife's application (Mine was similar- PSK was a week later and in Hyderabad): Global Entry Application - Jul 4, 2017 PSK appointment - Jul 30, 2018 - Bangalore Police verification - Aug 2, 2018 - Bangalore Conditional approval - Jan 3, 2019 Appointment and Final Approval- Jan 29, 2019 - Dulles Airport (IAD). Govt. shutdown pushed the date. Experience: CBP Application: My wife and I enrolled as soon as the program was announced. Unfortunately, the details about PSK in India and timelines associated with the Indian Govt weren't clear. CBP offered to refund but did say that we could do the PSK stuff up to a year into the future. These were their exact words to my query: "The Government of India (GOI) has imposed the added requirement of having an interview in India. This was imposed after our initial rollout. Therefore, if you submitted an application prior to July 6, 2017 and cannot complete the GOI requirement, then we are offering you a full refund. If you feel that you can complete it, but it will be many months out, that is fine. Your application will remain active for up to a year until you are able to complete. Please reply to this email with your name and PASSID, if you want a refund. We will not offer refunds if you submitted an application after July 6, 2017."Based on this, we decided to keep our application as we had plans to go to India in about a year's time. PSK Appointment & Police verification: PSK appointment itself cannot be scheduled way in advance but we didn't have issues getting appointments. The process at PSK was fairly streamlined by Indian standards. Took about an hour or so. The head of the PSK was saying that there were tons of applications pending somewhere in the bureaucracy. Police verification followed soon after- the police guy asked me to show up at the police station with copies of passport, PAN, Aadhar etc. Again, very smooth process. CBP Conditional Approval & Appointment at Center: Honestly, based on timelines posted, I was expecting the conditional approval to come in about 8 months later but it took 5 months for us. I never actually received emails from CBP about conditional approval or final approval. Anyway, on Jan 4th, 2019, I checked my account and there it was conditional approval was granted on Jan 3rd, 2019. We kept scheduling the appointment at IAD (Dulles airport) but had to move it every-time due to the Govt shutdown. Finally, with the government open, we had our interview on Jan 29th. Since we had moved from our 2017 address- it took a while for the officer to update everything (he was very slow) for the both of us. In addition, my wife had a H4 in 2017 and she moved onto a F1 so he needed to update that as well. Anyway, we never received an email from CBP on approval but the online account showed I am just super excited to have TSA Pre and GE done for the next 4-5 years. I will need to keep my VISA updated with the enrollment center but those are walk-ins and a minor hassle. I hope that on I don't have to go through the Indian process again the next time! |
Global entry card mailed??
Good to know you got it! So did they email the GE card to your address (assuming u live in the US) And if so how long did it take for you to receive the physical card? Mine got approved aswell and shows approved online when I login to the global entry cbp site. its been 3 calendar weeks since approval yet to receive the actual card in the mailbox. |

Only passports and lawful permanent resident cards (Green Cards) can be used at Global Entry kiosks. The Global Entry card is used mainly for expedited entry into the United States via the SENTRI and NEXUS lanes at land borders. |

Has anyone received a conditional approval recently? I raised a grievance through the Centralized Public Grievance Redress And Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and got a response that the file is pending with the Ministry of Finance. No idea how to proceed as the Ministry of Finance is not listed on the CPGRAMS system.
I applied in December 2017 and finished police verification in January 2018. |
I am on my first international trip since I got GE. Do I scan my passport page or visa page? I vaguely recall the interviewer mentioning visa (and something about always scan a US document). Just want to confirm here before I come across as an idiot at the kiosk.

I was told I could use either. However I was reminded I have to use my middle name when booking a ticket for records to match. I never use the middle name when booking my tickets. Let's see if it works next month when I travel for first time since GE
|
Thanks you guys. I don't have a middle name so I'm clear of that. About to board the flight back now. I'll report tomorrow how it goes. |

Used GE in SFO last night. I tried Visa first and it scanned my details correctly. I left it in the scanner too long that it asked me to scan again. Second time, I scanned the passport details page and it showed the same details. Went ahead with it and had no problem (fwiw I had some candies and chocolates so I answered yes on the "do you have food question". CBP official just waved me through).
I have used TSA Pre a few times but never have I ever been so happy about it like last night.(I usually fly out of SBA and the only use of pre is not taking shoes and laptop off). The line for security was 100-120 people long but pre-check too may be all of 2-3 minutes. |
