Varanasi-Delhi flight, then on to Europe. Did I do it wrong?
Hello all.
I bought a cheap ticket Varanasi-Delhi on IndiGo that arrives at Indira Gandhi airport 4 hours before my Lufthansa flight back to Europe. IndiGo has good marks on Skytrax and I don't want to overnight in Delhi if I can avoid it, so I just went and booked without thinking too much. Now I'm wondering if I'm taking too much risk on missing my flight home. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

That should be plenty of time, even too much time, however the most someone would be able to tell you is that if things go very wrong, you could miss your flight so some people may prefer to stay the night in Delhi before their departure. That being said, your 4 hour window seems very reasonable to me and can even absorb a significant delay. The Indian low cost carriers seem very good. I have flown Spicejet but not IndiGo, and it was excellent. Flew it several times throughout India and the only flight on my trip that was delayed was LGA to YYZ on Air Canada lolol...

when is your flight????if its during fog season then i would not take a chance with a 4 hour connection....especially since you need to change terminals as well....

Agreed with above. Between the risk of a delayed flight, the need to transfer terminals, and then get into the airport (showing passport and ticket), going through preliminary security, then check-in, then immigration, and then the second set of security...its probably okay, but I wouldn't risk it.

Last year I was in India and I traveled with IndiGo Varanasi - New Delhi and then Sri Lanka with 3h stopover. It was ok, without any problems, but 3h for take baggage, change terminal (very big queue for the shuttle bus), check-in, inmigration and way to the gate took a lot of time. With flight delay it's impossible.
