Information on Mobile Services and Mobile Hotspots
So I'm flying to India next month and it's been 8 years since I last went there. Things have developed more in those 8 years so this time, I am bringing my smartphone and laptop with me.
I'll be staying in Gujarat (Surat area) with one possible trip to Vrindavan maybe in late Dec / early Jan. In my research, I think that airtel would be the best carrier to go with, but I can't plan for my budget because airtel's website just doesn't want to work on my computer (it keeps giving me invalid link whenever I try to click on any link on their main site). Also, I wasn't sure if I should spend money from the US to buy a globally unlocked mobile hotspot (for laptop), so I can just throw in a SIM card from Airtel or if I should just get one in India. The best price I can find is something within the $60-$80 range of a new one on ebay.
I would be staying there for 1.5 months, so getting a prepaid plan is what I'm looking at. Maybe a good size of data for both phone and hotspot. I just don't know what the prices are.
