OCI Processing Times?
Does anyone know what the current approximate processing times are for an OCI from the US? Currently, the C&K website has the following message scrolling along the top:
Of course, no mention of how long the delays are.
We are looking to get the OCI for my 4-month old daughter - I would think a fairly standard case - Mom is an OCI - and applicant is a US passport holder. We are planning a trip to India in mid-late December, which I would think would be enough time, but hearing what I have about C&K, and knowing the experience I went through with BLS previously, I'm not really sure what to expect. I'm also thinking of changing my PIO to an OCI, but not really sure of the implications or whether its really necessary, except for the fact that if I can do it without the GOI fees like I can now, might as well do it now rather than later.
Also, does anyone know if the delay will be while we need to send our passport in? I was initially told they would only need a couple of weeks with it. Aside from not wanting passports out of our hands anytime longer than absolutely necessary, we do travel out of the country often, most notably to Canada to see family.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to technical reasons there is a delay in dispatch of OCI cards from New Delhi, turnaround times for OCI applications are longer than usual processing time.

OCI always goes to India for processing, PIO used to be done in the consulate itself. I would apply asap.
