If you visit India on work for nearly 180 days a year, it is advised to go the tourist route when you are visiting as a tourist. Else you will run afoul of the 180 day mandatory registration at the FRRO rule.

Has anyone here tried paying the Evisa fee over the last couple of days?
My uncle filled in the form over the weekend & tried to pay the fee but the payment page won’t load. He has tried different browsers & different computers but is running into the same problem. I tried to pay the fee as well but the payment page won’t progress beyond the page where you enter all your details & click the payment link. I tried calling the customer service number but that doesn’t work as well. The call gets disconnected even before the phone rings. Anyone have any clue what he can do? It’s been 3 days now. |
In general the eVisa website is notorious glitchy... I had also a lot of problems a few weeks back, finally it worked via paypal. The bank payments all failed.

I have had many frustrations with this website and I apply for an Indian visa every 12 months! You have to make sure that all the data entered is correctly visible and saved - that was always my problem. I am usually on a VPN which makes using governmental websites difficult. As long as you have saved your application, and all the entered data is still there when you re-open the application, then the payment should work. Hopefully you are selecting the correct payment option that works with a non-Indian credit card. Also check with your card issuer that they are not blocking the transaction on their side. Other than that, you could try paypal.

Day 4 the payment page loaded & I was able to pay the fee. Did nothing different compared to the earlier 3 days.

Website issue
I am using the correct/government site mentioned above and the page just wont load. I cant get past page 1. I dont get it. I will keep trying. I see above someone got it on the 4th try.
I dont understand why getting these e Visas is so difficult. Had issues with KL as well as the whole process and waiting to get into Vietnam. If i cant get this to work do I then need to use one of the 3rd party sites that is going to charge more? EDIT: I have got to the family page but then it says it cant reload. This is both on my lap top and now on my phone. This is by far now the worst visa experience I have had. What an absolute joke. Any work around or what am I to do? |

Does e-Visa ask for last 10 years travel history? US passport holder.
TIA |
I applied for 30days evisa as American and it asked me many question about my country of birth parents their name my travel history etc . I could fly to far more advanced countries like UAE Dubai and don’t even have to say a single word! India should do better ! Took 72 hrs exact to receive approval

You should take a look at the documents that the super ultra advanced countries like the US require Indians to submit while applying for a visa... ;)
