Luggage storage/transfer in BOM?

Hello everyone,

I have a trip coming up that includes (on purpose!) a full day stop in BOM (arrive from HYD on 9W around 8:00AM, depart to EWR on UA around 11:30PM). I'm planning to spend the day in the city (using this and this thread as starting points for my itinerary). I was considering looking for some kind of day rate at a hotel for the sole purpose of having a place to store luggage, but it sounds like BOM airport has left luggage service. This even includes a service to transfer the left luggage from the domestic terminal (in which I arrive) to the international terminal (from which I depart). Has anyone used this storage or transfer service, and is it reputable and reliable? I would certainly take any valuables with me for the day.

Another alternative: if I hire a car and driver for the day, I would hope that it would be safe to keep my belongings with the driver, but any comments on this (possibly poor) assumption are welcome.

Thanks!

i would not recommend leaving the luggage in your car....for such a long layover it would be nice to have a room for day use so that you can freshen up & get some rest before a long flight....

Luggage storage/transfer in BOM?

Thanks - any suggestions on a hotel that offers this? It looks like the Ibis near the domestic terminal has a day rate, but it's only offered for 6 hour stays. I'll call around to look for other options, though. I'm lucky enough to fly C, so I'm not too concerned about taking a nap/break in a hotel room before the flight (though a shower might be nice).
