Need help planning a trip to India

I am Gold on American and was looking at flying to Delhi, India on their flight via London with a BA connection. I am seeing the open jaw I have planned pricing at $1602. I return from Singapore. Qatar is pricing at $1245 but flies through Doho and I need aome advice on which routing to take. I know they are in discussions to join the one world and would take them if I could get miles. Thoughts?

As this doesn't seem to be a mileage run or mileage run related topic but rather questions about two options to travel to India, I'll move it to the India forum for further discussion.

seems to me like this is a better fit for the 'one world' forum....
