Beaches in India in July

I'm going to India in July (yeah i know, not a great time), and was wondering if anybody know any places with nice beaches and some nightlife(bars, discos etc) in July?

I wouldn't go to India for nightlife of the bar/disco variety. Never had a good experience with that.

Less than ideal beach weather in July with the monsoon weather making swimming poor to dangerous in the South.

Check out Goa for beaches and nightlife. Both Western and local traffic.

Goa would be pretty perfect for the rest of the year, but I've read that it's almost dead at the summer because of the weather. After I've checked weatherbase, Kerela seems better with 200mm rain per month in Trivandrum. The beaches also seems pretty nice there, but there is no nightlife at all. So we thought about Kochi, which seems to have som nightlife, but then again, the beaches there doesn't seem nice at all.

So I guess there isn't any places who covers both of our wishes? In that case I guess we will be going to Trivandrum(Kovalam), any recommandations there?

We've checked out Soma Palmshore Beach Resort, which seems to be a nice hotel. We would like AC, close to the beach and a pool, any other suggestions?

And we are 7 people going, so it would be nice with a hut or something like that, who could take 3 or 4 persons per hut.

I'll check it out, thanks!

I think it might be a little bit over our price range, since we are all students.

Port Blair is apparently nice in July. I've never been, so I can't validate.
