Urgent advice needed - Wine / Scotch

Hi Friends,
I need some solid advice urgently.

I am traveling from USA to India via Dubai in a day or two. Pls suggest me one wine bottle and one whiskey bottle which you suggest purchasing here. I want to purchase something which can be gifted in India to someone to oblige. Should not be cheaply or easily available in India.

I can purchase at USA or even at Dubai airport. My budget is USD 100.

Pls advice best.

one friend has advised me -

1. Green Label scotch - as red is easily available in India
2. Wine - Robert moadnavale or something

Pls share ur expertise asap.

Thank You.

JW Blue or Chivas should be fine.

JW Blue might be out of the OP's budget of $100. JW Gold might be a better choice. If I were you, I'd go with Chivas 18 over any Johnny Walker.

Also, I'd recommend buying it in Dubai. You will have to carry it around in your luggage for less time and also pay a lower price for the bottle.

I suggested the OP buy them in DXB, on his way to India. I have no idea if they are available in DEL arrival dutyfree.

Yes, I saw them in September 2010. The DEL arrival DF is well stocked with stuff that appeals to the Indian tongue and cheaper than US/European DF prices. Not been to DXB since 2003, so can't compare.
