India Meet a Flyertalker Thread 2010

Lots of FlyerTalkers live in and pass through India whether for tourism or business. Over the past years I've met a ton of FlyerTalkers due to the Starwood and Thailand meeting threads. Today I met my first gracious FlyerTalker in India.

I'll be moving to the New Delhi area in the coming weeks and while I will still be traveling extensively, I'll be happy to meet FlyerTalkers who find themselves in town. I'm sure there are like-minded individuals in all of the other major cities in India.

If others agree, perhaps we can make this into a sticky so that it is one of the first things people who are coming to India see when they enter to forum.

PLEASE CLICK TO THE LAST FEW PAGES FOR THE LATEST INFO ON AVAILABILITY OF MEMBERS AND TO SCHEDULE OR FIND AN ALREADY PLANNED MEET IN CASE THIS POST HAS NOT YET BEEN UPDATED.

Please post your visits as follows:

I've been trying to set up a meet in MAA (2 other resident flyertalkers, and Superflyboy from BOM who is interested in coming over). That meet's been jinxed the last 3..4 times we've tried to organize it (sudden meetings / business trips, personal stuff etc .. something or the other crops up for one or the other person).

I guess with a larger enough number of FTers coming in that shouldnt matter as much if one or two of the FTers has to drop out.

Mind finding somewhere a bit more central than DEL or BOM, please, for us deep south types?

I think that you've been trying too hard.

The idea is to simply see if there is anyone else in town that wants to get together. So when I happen to find myself in BLR for a meeting I'll post and ask if anyone is around. If they are and are free we grab a drink.

It looks like I'm still in Delhi through Tuesday or Wednesday. Then I'm in BOM at the Grand Hyatt until Friday night. Anyone in BOM want to grab a drink Thursday evening at the Hyatt?

Amazing - you always come into BOM when I get back from SIN!

(We'll touch base...)

Not *completely* jinxed - we got to have a mini-mini-DO in BOM to watch "up in the air", right?

(Not a great movie - at least the one shown on the Indian screen - did anyone enjoy the inaccurate AAdvantage program portrayal + flight interiors of the MD-80's??)

heh, that sounds like fun. I've watched the movie a few times now, the latest being on an AC flight yesterday. Obviously the details of AAdvantage are incorrect (10 MM benefits?) but the flight interiors seemed like the ones on the 762/3, not like the MD80s, which was what he was supposed to be in lol.

*Exactly*!!

How idiotic - they do a film on frequent flying and then think we'll miss these details??

Let's try to stay on topic so we don't have to search for the information of who is going to be where.

(Biting my tongue to keep from commenting on the movie/book :)
