AI changed flight timings

Hi I am flying SIN-MAA return on Air India in business class. Air India recently changed the flight timings for my confirmed flight out of chennai. They postponed the departure from chennai from 1045hrs to 1330 hrs. I am connecting from SIN to MEL at 2100hrs. The problem now is because AI changed their timings, I will be arriving in SIN at 1955hrs and have to connect on SQ at 2100 hrs. I am flying SIN-MEL on SQ business class too. Will the transit time be too short? will Air India transfer my checked baggage to my next flight which is by Singapore airlines? or should i change my air india flight out of chennai? they don't seem to have any other flight out of chennai during the day. Or will Air India put me on a code share flight to facilitate my connecting flight since they changed the timings Can someone recommend possible options?

1 hr 5 minutes is more than enough to connect in SIN .. if your AI flight is on time you should be able to make it.

If your MAA-SIN and SIN-MEL are on the same ticket you should be protected against misconnects. If you're on two separate tickets and you get misconnected, that's your own misfortune and/or something your travel insurance provider will have to handle once you claim it.

I am a bit worried about Air India after reading about their pilots going on strike. Should I cancel my flights on air india & try some other airline? I am only flying in November. I hope the strike resolves by then

My advise is cancel your booking with AI. Never ... I'll emphasize Never count on AI getting you to your destination if you have an important meeting or tight connection.
