More ammo for AJLondon ! Why's this thread suddenly looking like Mr Hefner's backyard? ;-)

I have this doubt for a long time...Now that we are comparing J class seat of 9W with BA, the genral opinion is 9W J class seats are any day better than BA. My question - Do most of the European based legacy carriers be it BA,LH or AF usually operate old & outdated aircraft on the Indian routes and the newest aircraft either on the transatlantic or Japan/Kangaroo Routes? Though i may not be right in my view, this is a doubt which i have for some time. Probably the reason why 9W new aircraft/seating configuration is better than BA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not necessarily if you are flying with a companion or a family...BA config is reportedly better. (never fly BA)

9W have a herringbone configuration (as per VS), whereas BA have the forwards/backwards combo (plus a pair of seats in each row that face backwards together). This is much more family-friendly, and the reason we never flew VS or 9W on the BOM-LHR route. If you're flying solo, then the herringbone config is probably more private (altho BA's window seats are pretty secluded too) but as all the family travel is on BA, so are my solo trips...

Regarding the quality of seating, BA have recently upgraded their long haul J class seats and all aircraft plying the Indian routes have it.For more detail on the new Club world seats (aka NGCW), head ove to the BA board and read one of the stickies there.
