Logged into optiontown and was offered the upgrade for a £2 nonrefundable fee and £50 for the upgrade if available. I don't really think its a good deal for such a short flight as I get lounge access and priority checkin anyway with my NW Gold.

now if it was GOI-BOM, it would be a better deal as flights to BOM can get delayed upto 90 minutes, just circling round and round.

personally i dont think the upgrades are worth it domestically as no booze and food is not really an issue with me. Im more interested in the the international long haul upgrades where for £200 you get far more bang for your buck!

Do we know if one receives the biz credit for the upgraded flight??

I don't think so, and I remember both the KF site and Optiontown saying that miles credit is only for booking class, not actual class flown.

I've experienced that, with the plane going all the way from BOM almost to PNQ and back while circling for about an hour. Will be booking my GOI-BOM flight in a couple of days once I finalise my date - its currently showing £49 for economy and £135 for First.

Does anyone know who actually are optiontown?

Who they are run by?

Where they are based?

and how they managed to get the SAS and Kingfisher upgrades deal?

just curious that a 3rd party is dealing with upgrades which could have been done by the airline itself?

what do they gain from these deals?

The Kingfisher in-flight magazine advertises this method of upgrading but the advertisement is so sparse on details that it makes me wonder why the service provider even wasted the ink and paper at all.

Got offered the upgrade for this sector for £50 as well. Decided not to take it up.

In what currency are they charging you?

This does matter, I guess, if one is refusing the upgrade, and then they subsequently have to refund the funds, so a dual percentage deduction from the cc, right?

Given that free domestic upgrades aren't an elite benefit, how is it an affront to elite status?

My personal limit is around £250 max for an on the day upgrade. I actually use IT staff travel so no upgrade possibility at all.

I need to purchase my parents tickets. If i can get them for £350 each and upgrade for £250 each it would be £600 each. Thats my limit otherwise they will be sitting in Y.
