I see 9W going from twice daily to just once. Or atleast change the second 77W to a A330 (if they have any left) if not then a B737 :p

Rest of the flights I think will stay due to their abilities to provide connections from their respective hubs. LHR has never really been a connecting hub aside for BA TA flights.

I doubt it....too much Indian-Swiss traffic...

They might suspend or reduce the service from weekly back to their previous 5-day or less.

They are interlining with AA and UA from LHR, btw, so probably some traffic there....

You mean traffic to/from North America or to India?

Speaking to a senior manager of a European airline at CSIA last night. He said NW/KLM, Aeroflot, Qantas and Ethiopian are ALL to pull out of Mumbai within the next couple of months.

Yes, plus AF is still flying to/from BOM within their alliance, so it makes no sense to keep NW or KL flying to India...

Buttwiser Apr 3, 2009 1:42 am

AY has announced that it will be restarting the BOM flights.

RAJRS.

sounds pretty smart, tap into the Diwali/Eid time market and wedding season begins about october to feb. A lot of families travelling back and forth at this time.

Your argument is weak. Just because one airline in an alliance flies to a destination does not mean other airlines will not. Different airlines within an alliance are still separate engtities and compete with each other. AF might want to stop KL from flying to DEL, but other agreements and reality are in the way. KLM's agreement with Air India and the reality that DL will not fly to DEL for the same reason NW stopped flying to DEL and turned over its frequencies to KLM. My bet is that KLM flights to DEL will continue.
Using your logic, all except one of the Star Alliance airlines would stop flying from Europe to DEL. This suh a silly argument.
BTW when is IT starting the BLR-SFO nonstop. ? :D When Mumbai freezes, I suppose. :D

That would be after the summer and much reduced frequency if I recall correctly.
