AI/TG Code Share - Checked baggage

I know that Air India & Thai codeshare and I am wondering if i can do the following:

My flight is:

DXB - BOM (AI)
BOM - BKK (TG)

Can i check in my bag in DXB right through to BKK? The tickets are different. I think it should be ok, but what do u thnk?

If they are different tickets AI may not be able to check you in efficiently - and it is quite likely, especially as its bombay, that you'll end up with your luggage on a plane to dhaka or newark rather than TG to bangkok.

AI have checked by bags successfully in Delhi, many times, through to DCA in Delhi on two separate tickets. One was DEL-BKK on AI and he other was BKK-NRT-LAX-MSP/DTW-DCA on NW. NW and AI do not code-share. A code-sharing agreement between the two airlines is not necessary requirement. All that is needed is an interline ticketing and baggage agreement. However, the person checking you in DXB has the immediate say. Tings could go wrong on BOM too.
