I presume you are flying:
LHR-BOM-HKG on jet?
If so, you will be in the "transit pax area" in BOM.
If your first flight arrives on time, you should be fine.

1.5 hours may be cutting it a little too close but if your flight is on time then you won't have a problem....

Welcome to FT, sunandoghosh :)

1. Luggage needs to be picked up at intl baggage terminal and then depending on airline it may be possible to give it in the domestic transfer desk..
2. Airport is the same, terminals are different.. u hv free intl to domestic shuttle bus service.
3. Depending on time, anything from 30mins to 1 hr 15mins in all..
4. Mumbai..
5. U can go out since u hv a Indian citizenship or indian visa..places to go at night ...hmmm.. can be interesting ;)

Btw.. there will be many threads on the mumbai airport transfer with much more details.. search in this forum and u will get much more details..

welcome to ft sunandoghosh....as abhilife2001 has already answered all your questions, i am just going to point out that you must keep atleast an hours time to transfer between the 2 terminals....

also, what kind of places are you looking to go out to????are you looking to check into a hotel to kill the 9 hours you have or any you looking to go out for dinner or a club????also, the domestic terminal will only accept your luggage early in the monring & not late at night....just keep that in mind....

This transfer is pretty simple as long as your LHR-BOM flight is on time.
get boarding passes from LHR for both sectors. Your luggage will be through checked to HKG.
You will stay in the "transit" area in BOM. You will not "enter" India.
Tell the Jet staff meeting the plane that you need to connect to HKG. So, they will note you are in the transit area.

Guys I am travelling SYD-SIN-BOM (SQ) and BOM-HYD (9W seperate tix).

I have 2 hours between the flights... is this enough, I will be travelling hand luggage only so I am expecting to clear customs / immigration pretty quickly.

Is it better to use the 9W transfer bus or get a taxi... which one is quicker?

Two hours is enough if you've only got hand-carry luggage. The bus is run by the airport, not the airlines. It supposedly runs every 20 minutes, but that's very loosely observed, and they will wait for what sometimes seems like a long time if the coach isn't full. Travel time itself is about 20 minutes around the airport perimeter road. Figure a good hour all in.

SQ 422 from SIN arrives in the morning (it's now really early account the closure of Runway 9-27) -- that's the flight I use, and there's not a queue at immigration, nor for the inter-terminal coach. If you're arriving late at night, off the other SQ flight, all bets are off -- take a taxi.

prebook a taxi so that there is one waiting for you when you exit the international terminal....

At 0730 in the morning, he's probably better off on the inter-terminal coach, considering the likely congestion on the roads outside the airport.
