JAI to COK

I need to travel from JAI to COK in January. Best options are via BOM with Jet Airways, or via BLR and HYD with IndiGo. IndiGo departs at 05:55 and total duration is 5 hours, Jet Airways departs at 09:00 and only 3hr 15 min, so much preferred. Questions are:

The Jet Airways flight:
This only gives us 55 minutes to change aircraft at BOM, is this long enough?
We will have checked luggage, will this be checked through from JAI to COK or will we have to collect it at BOM and re-check it onwards?
There is another Jet Airways flight BOM to COK 3 hours later, if we miss our connection will Jet Airways simply re-book us on the next flight or will we have problems?

IndiGo flight:
IndiGo say check in closes 30 minutes before departure, but what is the sensible time to arrive at JAI for check in?
Flight is all on one code (so presumably one aircraft) but will we stay on board all the way or will we have to disembark at BLR and again at HYD?

Any thoughts on the relative merits of JetAirways vs IndiGo?

Thanks for your help, Pirate

Indigo - you will stay on board for about 45 minutes at BLR and continue on to HYD on the same plane. So you dont need to recheck your bags.

55 minutes - domestic to domestic is easy enough, and if you are on a single ticket & 9W misconnects you they will reroute you.

BOM is the sort of airport where you can have serious delays due to congestion, so ..
